Golf in St. George, Utah
A few years ago, the quiet Utah town of St. George made a public bet with golfers. "If
the sky is cloudy, your hotel room that day is free." One year a
pesky altocumulus cloud forced the chamber to rescind that offer,
but the point was made. St. George is warm and sunny practically all the time,
especially in fall and late spring. And it is home to some of most affordable golf in the United States,
allowing golfers to avoid the three figure rounds common to their neighbor 100 miles to the southwest, Las Vegas.
Be sure to play the Entrada at Snow Canyon and the Sunbrook golf courses.
St. George is a small, quiet town with some artistic old buildings. But don't head here
looking to party. The town with one bar heads to bed early. However, nature lovers will find it
a convenient hub for some spectacular sightseeing. The Grand Canyon is two hours away.
Zion National Park is about an hours drive to the northeast. Head north 75 miles and you will
find the Brian Head
ski area.
While the avid golfers will find the eight local courses tempting, plan a few days
away from the links if possible, and enjoy some spectacular nature ... and some peace of mind.
